Presentation of PLATFORMA

The European Platform of Local and Regional Authorities for Development has been launched during the European Development Days of Strasbourg in November 2008.  Coordinating the voice of local and regional authorities and of their representative organisations to the European institutions, PLATFORMA is committed toward three major objectives:

- a better acknowledgment of the action of Local and Regional Authorities in development cooperation,

- the set up of a solid dialogue between European local and regional authorities and EU institutions in charge of Development policy

                                                                            - the promotion of  an efficient decentralised cooperation.

This site aims to be a showcase of our activities. We hope it will be a useful source of information for local and regional authorities as well as for all the different actors of Development, and that it will allow to make local and regional authorities development cooperation activities better known at EU level.
